My Story

Here is a brief history of how the Lord has brought to the present time.

In February of 2011, I was approached by my youth pastor about the need for teachers at Santiago Christian Academy in Santiago, Chile.  He had received an email from our missionaries there asking to spread the word to any teachers he knew who would consider praying to come and join the team there.  I told him to forward the email on to me and I would take a look at it.  Through a long series of events, and changing wills from mine to God’s, God showed me that he wanted me to go to Santiago Christian Academy for 2 years to be the teacher of the 1st and 2nd grade class there at the school.  I was terrified to go, but I knew that I had to follow in obedience despite my fears.  He laid out every single thing in order for me to make the trip including having my passport come in just 1 week, the week I was supposed to fly out!

I arrived in Santiago on August 12, 2011 and from the moment my feet set foot on the school grounds, I fell in love with my students, the school, and the other missionaries there.  Of course, that was after my jetlag.  Once I settled in, I enjoyed every minute of being there and doing what God had called me to do for that time.  I was stretched and grown in so many ways, but it was all for the glory of God and for Him to show what He could do through me; things I never thought possible.

Near the end of my term, I began praying about whether God would have me to return as a full time missionary and, just like He had since the beginning of my call to short term missions, He answered very clearly, and I felt a peace about going back to SCA to be a full time teacher there in the school that had such a special place in my heart.  So when I returned home in July of 2013, I went directly to Candidate Seminar at ABWE International Headquarters which is located in Harrisburg, PA.  At the end of that seminar I was approved by the ABWE board to be a new full time missionary to serve at Santiago Christian Academy in Chile.

I completed my pre-field ministry in 2016 and began Language School to learn Spanish at Rio Grande Bible Institute in Edinburgh Texas in January of 2017.  I graduated with a certificate in the Intercultural Studies program in December of 2017.  I began the paperwork process in January of 2018 to enter the country of Chile on a 1 year temporary VISA.  By July 1, 2018, I was in Santiago!

As you have read, it has been an incredible journey since February of 2011.  I have fallen in love with my students and the people of Chile.  Deciding to follow in obedience to God's call to ministry in Santiago has already been full of blessings.   Please consider how you might join my team!   I am excited to see what He is going to do in the future.  Join me!
